From short term border fence, to long term Berlin wall?

The idea of a fence to keep illigals out is a good one. I support the fence. It's a good short term, quick ( and unfortunately expensive) fix. It will make securing the borders simpler, and safer. Though I have to ask, will the fence be turned into our own Berlin wall 20 years from now? One thing I've learned, is that people do not change, and because of this, history does repeat itself. (The ones that remember and try to prevent past atrocities from recurring, are usually called cautionary wackos and shut out.) Twenty years from now will there be bodies at our border? Did you just think - "good"?
